Seraphine Myste

The Veiled Knight

Personality
Kind, calm and collected at first she may strike as a very serious person even closed off. But once she trusts some one she's loyal to a fault
Seraphine is, at her core, deeply compassionate. She has lived among the forgotten and broken, and it has given her a rare kind of empathy one that sees the pain in others, even when they try to hide it. She listens more than she speaks, acts more than she boasts, and offers kindness with no expectation of return. She has been hurt, betrayed, and cast aside, but none of it hardened her heart. If anything, it deepened it.Under the tutelage of Darius she has made a vow: To make sure no one suffer as she had.She holds herself to a quiet code of honor, reminiscent of the knights she never had the birthright to join. Even under the name Chevalier, she makes no grand declarations or claims of righteousness but her every choice speaks of it. She gives what she can to the poor, comforts the dying when no priests are nearby, and fights not for coin or glory but because someone must.Despite her seriousness, Seraphine is not without warmth. In rare, unguarded moments around those she trusts her dry wit, gentle sarcasm, and even a soft laugh emerge. She treasures small things: a shared cup of tea, a child’s smile, a moment of peace at sunrise. These are reminders that even in a world steeped in shadow, light still exists. But make no mistake beneath her kindness is a fierce resilience. She will not be pushed, broken, or cowed. Threaten those she protects, and she becomes something terrifying: not a monster, but a reckoning. Not evil, but righteous wrath in the form of a forgotten girl who made herself a knight.Hobbies & Interests
1. Candle-Making
After years in dark alleys and war-torn roads, Seraphine finds peace in soft light. She hand-pours her own candles simple beeswax when supplies are tight, or delicately scented when she can afford the indulgence. She gives them to others as silent gifts, believing even a single flame can offer comfort in the dark.
2. Collecting Forgotten Stories
While she cannot read the high tongue fluently, Seraphine hoards old tomes, journals, and bits of forgotten poetry. She's drawn to the untold stories of common folk scraps of love letters, half-written prayers, marginalia in an old recipe book. Each one reminds her that every soul, even those discarded, mattered once.
3. Herb Foraging & Folk Remedies
Having lived without healers, she learned how to keep herself and others alive through practical means. She knows which herbs soothe fevers, calm the nerves, or ease nightmares. It’s not just survival this quiet caretaking is one of the ways she shows affection.
4. Brewing Teas
A leftover habit from her mother’s brief moments of peace, Seraphine takes pride in crafting her own blends chamomile and mint for sleep, dried rose and spice to ease nerves. She often brings a pot to her companions without a word, letting the warmth speak for her.
5. Sword Forms in Silence
Seraphine practices classical sword forms in the early morning, alone. It's part meditation, part disguise. The forms remind her of discipline, control, and her own ideal of knighthood even if she was never meant to wear a crest.
6. Listening to Street Performers
She doesn’t sing or dance herself, but she loves to linger at the edges of street performances especially musicians and storytellers. The brightness in those moments gives her hope. Sometimes, she’ll slip them a gil or two more than they expect, silently encouraging them to keep going.
7. Charcoal Sketching
Her drawings are rough but honest faces of people she’s met, crumbling ruins, or fleeting scenes she doesn't want to forget. It’s how she remembers, mourns, and sometimes lets go.
8. Observing the Stars
She’ll sit in silence for hours watching the night sky. The stars remind her of her mother’s bedtime stories, and of the name of the guild she’s now part of the Starlit Knights. She wonders if some stars are watching back, and hopes one might be hers.

Seraphine Myste

The Veiled Knight

In the frostbitten veins of Ishgard’s Brume, Seraphine was born not of love, but of a lapsed judgment and a night dulled by too many ales. Her mother, Angela Tanner, was a tavern wench at the Forgotten Knight, known for her quick wit and weary smile. Her father was no one she’d ever know an Elezen noble of minor standing who vanished back into the Pillars without a second thought. And so Seraphine inherited the name Greystone, a surname granted to the forgotten, the illegitimate, the ones born of nothing.Angela did her best in a city that offered little, but sickness took her early, leaving Seraphine orphaned before she’d grown into her teens. Alone in the lower wards of a city choking on war, dragons, and piety, she scraped by in the Brume one of many children no one bothered to claim. She tried, once, to be more. At fourteen, full of bruised hope, she begged to squire for the Temple Knights. They let her clean blood from the floor and silence her questions. What she witnessed the cruelty, the apathy, the hypocrisy left her spirit colder than the Coerthan wind. She abandoned her dream of knighthood, turning her back on a nation that had never offered her a place to begin with.In her mid-twenties, Seraphine wandered rootless, worn, and increasingly desperate. She took odd jobs to survive. She stole. She bartered her body when coin ran dry. There were no illusions of glory, only the scraping, hollow sound of survival. Until one night, on the snow-slicked stones of a ruined hamlet in the central highlands, she heard a voice. From the abyss and she answered.A man glad in white armor came to her rescue, one who's voice was deep, caring and kind. He took Seraphine with him to his guild trained her to wield a Great-sword proper and gave her a purpose. From that day she started to live as an adventurer
She is not a knight of Halone.
She is her own kind of righteous.
